Quesadilla Factory Is Open & Thriving PLUS Princess Diana Oats Are Back On! 👸
They Said “Just One Quesadilla,” and Now My Kitchen is a Factory 🧀😂
I recently came across a post that said kids should be able to cook as many dishes as they are in age. So for my 12-year-old, that means 12 dishes! I loved the idea and instantly started a list on my phone. We’ve always baked together, but we haven’t done as much actual cooking. I asked each of my kids what they wanted on their list—meals they love and would feel confident making with a little instruction and help.
At the top of my boys’ lists: cheese quesadillas. All three of my kids are obsessed with quesadillas, especially when there’s a fresh batch of salsa involved. So we had a little lesson on “the art of the quesadilla.” We covered stovetop safety, which pans to use, which tortillas I like best, and of course: how they had to grate their own cheese (you know I’ll never stop preaching that one 😅).
Since then, our kitchen has basically turned into a quesadilla factory. They’ve each made a dozen or more, proudly showing me their golden-brown tortillas and gooey cheese every time. It’s the best! Next on their list: their favorite simple chicken stir fry. We’ll work up to all of the dishes slowly.
And for my 6-year-old daughter? She started with her favorite: a grilled cheese sandwich. Made in the air fryer, of course. If you haven’t tried an air fryer grilled cheese yet, this is your sign. Nothing compares!
My boys convinced me to host another “breakfast afternoon” with friends, so we made chocolate chip waffles with my “famous” caramel syrup and piles of whipped cream. I even doubled the batch--and not a drop was left after those boys were done!
One of my favorite things about waffles is how well the batter keeps. I love making a big batch and storing it in the fridge overnight, and it’s honestly even better the next day!
I know, I know...you’ve been hearing a lot about soup lately. But I also keep getting messages saying, “Don’t stop! Give me all the soup recipes!” Since soups are my favorite recipes to create, I’m happy to keep them coming.
Here are the latest ones you may have missed:
🥣 Crockpot Stuffed Pepper Soup – flavor is off the charts!
🥣 Mediterranean Lentil Soup – such a feel-good kind of soup
🥣 Greek Lemon Soup – strong lemon flavor and incredible with some dill.
🥣 Sausage Gnocchi Soup – obsessed with Rana’s gnocchi!
🥣 Roasted Red Pepper Gouda Soup – my dad’s new favorite!
